Die Schaderreger sind Bodenpilze (Botrytis, Phythophthora, Pythium, Fusarium, Cylindrocladium, Rhizoctonia und andere). Gerade bei Cypripedien gibt es durch sie immer wieder Verluste. |
The pathogenic agents are fungi occuring in the soil (Botrytis, Phythophthora, Pythium, Fusarium, Cylindrocladium, Rhizoctonia and others). Cypripediums are often affected and sometimes killed by these microorganisms. |

Oft zeigt sich das Problem schon im Austrieb. Bei einer gesunden Pflanze ist das untere Deckblatt grün. Wird es im Verlauf des Winters oder beim Austrieb braun, ist diese Pflanze bereits geschädigt. |
Often the problem is already visible at the beginning of growth in spring. With healthy plants the basal sheath is green. If the sheath is turning brown during winter or at the beginning of growth, then the plant is already damaged. |

Die Schadbilder der verschiedenen Erreger sind einander ähnlich. Auch mit bakteriellen Erkrankungen bestehen Verwechslungsmöglichkeiten. Nur bei Botrytis kommt es zu einem auch für Laien erkennbaren graubraunen Pilzrasen. |
The damages caused by different microorganisms are similar in appearance. Even bacterial diseases may look like fungal infections. Only the typical grey-brown fungal structures of Botrytis infections can be identified even by a layman. |

Die anderen Pilze lassen sich nur unter dem Mikroskop im Labor bestimmen. Leider gibt es kein Mittel (Fugizid), das gegen die gesamten pilzlichen Erreger wirkt. Aus diesem Grunde ist man meist auf die Hilfe von Fachkräften (z.B. Pflanzenschutzämter) angewiesen. Von diesen bekommt man dann auch das benötigte Fungizid genannt. |
Fungi other than Botrytis can be determined only by microscopic examination. Unfortunately there is no fungicidal agent effective against all fungal diseases. Therefore, in most cases you need the advice of experts (e.g. plant protection agencies). They will tell you the fungicide necessary and effective. |
